The architecture field is an industry which has long been revered as a showcase for building design, innovation and experimentation. These qualities are not always carried across to the digital space, however. Architects used to rely on reputation and word of mouth, and while this is still important, some are realising that strong digital marketing can bring fruitful rewards. Smart use of content, design, social and technology can help bring in new customers, as well as support values and expertise.
It’s with this in mind that Archiboo, one of architecture’s most exciting new ventures offering a platform for people to share their knowledge and expertise, decided to launch the Web Awards. The awards recognise the best websites and digital marketing tactics within the industry. Architects, development firms, and associated organisations, could enter for any of the following categories:
- Best overall
- Best use of visual design
- Best use of social media
- Best use of content
- Best use of technology
- Best home page
Hundreds of architects entered the awards. Given that I have trained and held workshops with architects before, and as a judge for the awards, it’s fantastic to see so many high-quality entries. Many of those who signed up have shown great competency in the digital space, and some brilliantly unique approaches. Last week the shortlist was announced – find out more about the finalists here.
The winner will be announced in September. Visit the Archiboo Web Awards site to find out more.
